Plus the spuds & onions aren't actually touching each other. As for the metal being food-safe, metal is generally safer than plastic. You could always line the files with fabric if it bothers you.Mareenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2539773159644285411.post-40762744340803136172016-04-18T17:59:36.007+01:002016-04-18T17:59:36.007+01:00Great idea!! The moisture of the onions causes the potatoes to rot. After years of doing that, I learned to keep the potatoes in an open container in a cabinet low to the floor and the onions in an open bowl on the counter top (or somewhere else out in the open air). Both last much longer. The potatoes won't rot and the onions won't start to mold very quickly.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01928448368313441404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2539773159644285411.post-51677923928646558042016-02-13T17:40:42.681+00:002016-02-13T17:40:42.681+00:00I have always been told never to have onions and p...I have always been told never to have onions and potatoes together.
